  • I had the home birth of my dreams this year and I wouldn't have felt as calm, confident and happy without Jenny's wonderful support and guidance. As a hypnobirthing teacher, Jenny is knowledgeable and empowering and both my partner and I valued our sessions immensely. As a doula, Jenny was the wise woman I wanted in the room and I could write for hours about all the ways she supported me before and after birth. A complete legend and a gorgeous friend. Do not hesitate - Jenny is who you need.

  • Jenny was an amazing support as our doula. Right from the beginning she helped to guide us and empowered us to make informed decisions about our pregnancy and birth. It was never about what was right or wrong but about trusting our instincts and knowing what felt good for us. Everything discussed is deeply personal to your own circumstances and feels like a breath of fresh air in the world of birth prep and postnatal care. What worked amazingly for us was the combination of pre and post natal visits, which meant that we had as much support before as we did during and after the birth. Combined with Jenny’s hypnobirthing course, it was definitely the best investment we made and I’m so so glad she was part of our journey.

  • I absolutely love what Jenny does! She offers so much for pregnant and postpartum mums. I followed her Hypnobirthing course and loved listening to her meditations, which helped me through my pregnancy. I used the affirmations I had created throughout my pregnancy and then during my labour. I really feel this helped me to confidently have a smooth and incredible home birth, though I also felt prepared if circumstances took a turn. Her information pages that came with the package were also really informative, interesting and clear. Thanks Jenny! I’d highly recommend her as support in pregnancy and beyond.

  • I took Jenny’s hypnobirthing class to prepare for my first baby. I knew I wanted to do hypnobirthing and was pleased Jenny’s class would teach me about what actually happens during birth. My husband and I learned a lot and felt very confident and prepared. I was also so happy at how much my husband, who was a bit dubious at first, enjoyed the class and how much he took from it to prepare to be my birthing partner. I am usually an anxious person but throughout my pregnancy I was very calm. My midwives kept commenting on this and were amazed at how relaxed and informed I was. I’ve now given birth and what might have been a bit of a scary birth for some was beautiful for me. Things didn’t go how I would have preferred them to but Jenny’s class helped me to prepare for how I would handle certain situations and still have a beautiful experience. I would 100% recommend her course. If I wouldn’t have done this, I guarantee I would have been far more upset and nervous with the challenges I faced during labour.

  • Meeting and being able to have Jenny as our birth "mentor" was for us one of the few good investments we made before our daughter was born. Her hypnobirthing course should be something that no parent(s) should go without. It is about giving back the skills, knowledge and confidence to trust our bodies that we have forgotten. Jenny uses a well balanced combination of Evidence-Based science and research, experience and common sense! On top of this, her professionalism, calm manner and kindness really tops it up. The birth of our daughter was everything that we could have asked for because of the tools we had beforehand and the trust that whatever way it happened, we would be able to deal with it. For us, it was the peace of trusting the process. My partner (who is a health professional ) was initially a bit sceptical but after the first class he was able to let go of any insecurities and doubts. He is a hypnobirthing evangelist now! And even said he would love to have her as our Doula next time around ♥️ So, thank you Jenny for everything you have done, for holding the space. You have given us such a precious gift and we will always be grateful.

  • Jenny is so knowledgeable and despite my hopeful and naive outlook on birth and the hospital system she was able to point me in the right direction to get informed so I was able to make informed decisions that were right for us and our baby. All the extras on her portal were just the icing on the cake with all the positive birth stories and guided relaxation and affirmation tracks. As I went into a labour that progressed very fast I found it so comforting listening to her affirmation and birth tracks out loud in the birthing suit as I birthed my baby. It drowned out all the other 'stuff' and unhelpful 'noise' that was going on around me and all I could hear was her calm soothing voice that was so familiar because I had listened to these tracks so many times. Comfort when I needed it the most. Thanks for everything that you do Jenny - you are a gem!!

  • TL;DR Jenny is a fantastic hypnobirthing teacher, incredibly knowledgeable in all things pregnancy and birth, and I’d thoroughly recommend her course to anyone about to have a baby – especially clueless birth partners like me! Far better than the popular antenatal classes we also attended. I had never heard of hypnobirthing and wouldn’t have even thought to seek it out, but my wife was very keen on it, and I wanted to be supportive. With a name like ‘hypnobirthing’ you’d be forgiven for dismissing it as ‘airy fairy’ nonsense. I get the impression some classes/teachers can be, but I really clicked with Jenny and her flavour of hypnobirthing. Everything she teaches makes so much sense, is generally all backed up with scientific research and, most importantly, was all hugely valuable before, during, and after the birth of our son. Birth can sometimes be complex, difficult, and traumatic. Like most things, your best chance of successful outcomes, is to educate yourself on what is about to happen – the physiology of what your body (or partners body) is about to go through, what options may present themselves along the way, what your legal rights are, and what tools you can equip yourself with to remain calm and in control throughout. This is how I would describe hypnobirthing, as taught by Jenny. It was so useful to have all this knowledge throughout the birth process, so that I could be as supportive a birth partner as possible, help make good decisions, and feel like I understood what was happening throughout. You are also encouraged to plan for all eventualities, such that you can feel positive and in control, even if things don’t go to ‘plan A’. Group sizes are nice – not too big, sessions are a good format/length, snacks were provided, and Jenny makes everything interactive and super simple to understand. There is normally some ‘homework’ to encourage you to practice tools/techniques, or discuss plans, with your partner between sessions too. By comparison, I felt our NCT class (same number of hours) was less informative/useful. I’d thoroughly recommend Jenny’s hypnobirthing course to anyone about to have a baby.

  • As a first-time mum, Jenny supported me during pregnancy, throughout labour and in the early weeks following the birth of my son. Jenny’s skill as a doula, means she knows when to intervene, and also when doing nothing is the right action. As a continuum doula, Jenny goes above and beyond to get to know you, understand what matters to you, and be able to advocate for you, where needed. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted a home birth. It made sense to me and having read lots about physiological birth and hypnobirthing, I knew it was associated with positive outcomes for both mother and baby. However, I had concerns about navigating the ‘system’ and the lack of continuity of care that was available. Jenny supported me (and my birth partner) to consider my birth preferences and write various plans for different scenarios. Whatever type of birth you are hoping for, I recommend Jenny (and more generally having a doula) to support you. During the prenatal doula sessions, Jenny also discussed comfort measures, including massage and aromatherapy and how I might like her to support me. She also dedicated time to thinking about our postnatal needs, and we came up with a postnatal plan to ensure we had sufficient support. Jenny’s support, guidance and knowledge enabled me to have the calm, natural, water birth I had hoped for. Jenny stayed with us throughout the 36-hour labour. Her presence supported me to navigate difficult decisions, stay in the ‘zone’ and ensure I felt informed, in control, and held. I transferred to hospital for the final hours of the labour, and with Jenny’s support, this remained a hugely positive experience. Following the birth, it’s been really helpful to have the space to reflect on the birth, but also practical support around the house. Jenny also thinks of the added extras, from a groaning cake at the birth, to bringing me an iron rich smoothie in the days that followed. I can’t thank Jenny enough for the support she has provided over the past 4 months.

  • Jenny made me aware of what I am capable of.

  • Jenny is absolutely incredible to work with. I wouldn’t change anything about our time together as she supported me through our first birthing journey. Her depth of knowledge and care and support she gave us went above and beyond our expectations. Forever grateful and if we’re lucky enough to get pregnant again ill most definitely be asking her to help again.

  • Thank you Jenny for such an amazing Hypnobirthing course! We feel so much more informed and confident for spending time learning from you. We didn't really know what to expect but I think this will be the best thing we did in this pregnancy to prepare. We are actually a bit sad its over but now we get to spend doula time with you :)

  • We chose to work with Jenny as our doula for the birth (and weeks after) of our first baby. We both agree this has been the best decision we could have made in our preparation to become parents! Jenny taught us so much about birth and labour that we were able to use on the day and she enabled us to have a really positive, supported and empowering experience. It has been so lovely for my both my husband and I to spend time with Jenny in both the lead up to our son’s birth and also beyond as she continued to support us postnatally. Jenny has always been incredibly kind, thoughtful and very knowledgeable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to all other expectant parents whether taking hypnobirthing classes or as a doula. • This is a brilliant course and Jenny is fantastic! I would really recommend this course to anyone considering hypnobirthing – my husband and I learnt so much.

  • Before completing this course, I thought the key to a successful birth was about being physically strong. Strong enough to cope with the inevitable pain and strong enough to push my baby out. This course taught me so much about strength and the that the type of strength I needed wasn’t necessarily physical, but mental and emotional strength to achieve the kind of birth experience we wanted. We learnt so much about the process of birth that it helped us to feel more confident, empowered and excited about the experience. Ultimately, we had a really positive birth experience thanks to everything Jenny taught us and the techniques she shared. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this course to anyone!

  • My husband and I enjoyed Jenny’s Hypnobirthing classes so much that we were tempted to do them all over again. Jenny is welcoming and personable and delivers all of the content in such a calm and engaging manner, so it was very easy to absorb and remember. All of our questions were answered and any fears or concerns we had were eased by the end of the course. She is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely wants everyone to have the best, most informed birth experience possible for them. Jenny is also really generous with her time, sending information and advice during and after the course via the WhatsApp group. We found Jenny so helpful and reassuring that we decided to hire her as our doula. One of the best decisions we have ever made! We had never considered having a doula before, but after taking the course we realised how important it is to consider your birth space, the people in it and the support you will need. Jenny met with us to help prepare us for the birth, checked in on us regularly, helped me through a very difficult fortnight when I developed a nasty pregnancy rash and then was at my side at the birth centre giving me all the encouragement, support, advice and jelly babies I needed. She kept me fed and hydrated, helped with positioning and breathing, and was just an all round Wonder Woman. We couldn’t have done it without her and if we decide to have another child, she will have no option but to be there with us! We cannot recommenced Jenny enough.

  • If there is one thing you spend money on during your pregnancy, make it this course. I was feeling positive but apprehensive about birth before we started but my partner was a very nervous/didn't know what to expect. Following the course we are both excited and looking forward to the labour and birth. I'm doing all my pregnant friends heads in by telling them to do it. It should be compulsory and will give you, your birth partner and your baby the absolute best chances of getting the birth you want.

  • I'd never heard of hypnobirthing until my midwife told me to check it out. My preconception about birth was that I wanted to believe I could handle it but that I was kidding myself and I felt woefully unprepared. I'm so glad we took the course with Jenny! She totally enriched my understanding of birth and what to expect with my body and our chosen surroundings. The course, along with all the great materials included, really helped me to nurture an inner confidence which I brought with me into hospital. Now, my actual birth experience was far from straight forward. There were lots of twists and turns and it certainly did not go according to plan BUT thanks to what we learned with Jenny, what might be perceived by others as a "traumatising birth experience", was in the end for me something I'd do all over again, which seems strange to say, but it's true. Definitely would recommend to any expectant parent.

  • My husband and I did Jenny’s incredible hypnobirthing course in Nov 2021 whilst expecting our first baby and it was honestly the best thing we spent our cash on! We both learnt so much about the birthing process, our rights, the role of the birth partner and invaluable techniques to help us during labour. When the time came I felt knowledgeable, calm, centred and empowered. We even listened to Jenny’s hypnobirthing tracks in the car on the way to the hospital at 4am. The things we learnt enabled us to make decisions about our birth preferences we might not have known about or considered and we would recommend the course to any expectant couples. My birthing experience was certainly much more positive for it. Thanks Jenny for your expertise, guidance and general support! Laura & Brian x

  • The birth up hypnobirthing course was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend doing it!

  • Thank you ever so much Jenny... thanks to hypobirthing and you I managed to have my baby via normal delivery and used only gas and air for pain relief.... in the built up of labour/contractions I used the tracks you provided to remain calm... it honestly helped so much.

  • We didn’t really know much about hypnobirthing prior to signing up, but I particularly was very excited about learning more and I’m so glad we did it! I learnt so much from Jenny about all that my body is capable of, and more importantly equipped for. I also learnt a lot about my option regarding the birth and all surrounding it; I had been given information from midwives of course, but found it to just be generic information that wasn’t very personalised, and never felt much of a connection at any of my appointments. I’ve learnt so much, and feel so empowered that I’m now booked in for a home birth (something I hadn’t really thought of exploring at all,) but of course am open to change should it be necessary. I’m eager and looking forward to putting all of the breathing and coping techniques to good use, and really looking forward to it rather than it being super daunting like it was prior to the course. My partner has also learnt a lot about how to be great advocate to me, and all of the things he can do to help the birth go as smoothly as possible. We really feel like a team Massive thank you to Jenny for all she has done so far, and I can’t wait to share how the experience goes with her!

  • There is a very popular meditation app in which you are instructed to imagine yourself "...sitting on the side of busy road, the passing cars representing thoughts and feelings. All you have to do is sit there and watch the cars. Sounds easy right? But what usually happens is that we feel a bit unsettled by the movement of the traffic. So we run out into the road and try to stop the cars, or maybe even chase after a few. Forgetting that the idea was to just sit here. And of course all of this running around only adds to the feeling of restlessness of the mind. So changing the mind is about changing our relationship with the passing thoughts and feelings. Learning how to view them with a little more perspective. And when we do this, we naturally find a place of calm." which, in a nutshell, is what this course has done for my wife and I. In the midst of what some may call a 'baby boom' there is a lot of 'traffic' and a lot of 'noise' and before this course it was difficult to filter through this traffic-noise to find the truth. And the truth is.... Well, you'll just have to do the course and find out. Follow Birth Up on Insta and sign up to a taster course to see what I'm talking about. To go from feeling utterly unprepared and somewhat overwhelmed by all the (often uninvited) advice around, to where we are now; confident, perceptive and, dare I say it, unafraid, is nothing short of brilliant. I no longer feel like an observer and have a mental (and physical) inventory for every stage of supporting my wife through the birth of our first child. Thanks, Jenny. You're bloody ace.

  • I could not recommend Jenny’s Hypnobirthing course more if I tried! Informative, non-judgmental, enjoyable, relaxed, and so reassuring. I went in feeling anxious about childbirth, and now I feel nothing but excitement. I also feel so well informed now, that I’m confident I could make the right decisions for me and my baby during labour, no matter the circumstances. Jenny is patient and kind, and always open to questions. We are so pleased we signed up!

  • This was the best purchase I made during my pregnancy. My anxiety about birth has been replaced with excitement. Highly recommend. Thank you so much Jenny!

  • Jenny was amazing! This course exceeded my expectations and I feel way more confident about my role supporting my partner through child birth.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed the Birth Up hypnobirthing course. I was initially unsure about what to expect however the course covered not only hypnobirthing techniques, but also a range of information and learning about labour, pregnancy and baby. I also really enjoyed meeting other pregnant mums, albeit virtually, and sharing our learning together. I’ve also enjoyed the monthly group and hope to attend more in the future before baby arrives. The handbook a great too! Jenny is great, straight talking and down to earth - and often in touch on our WhatsApp group with some reading and materials which I have really enjoyed! Would recommend this course to others!

  • Great course with lots of information, really well delivered, and engaging, even though the one I did was via zoom. It was so much more than what I would think of as hypnobirthing, and gave lots of information about all things antenatal. Would definitely recommend as I feel excited about the birth of my baby, and knowledgeable enough to handle any decisions or hiccups that might come along.

    Sarah

  • Absolutely loved my hypnobirthing course with Jenny! They went by so fast and wish I had longer. Although they were done via zoom Jenny kept me engaged throughout and really taught me about stuff I wouldn’t have thought about otherwise. Jenny has also helped me mentally prepare myself for what is to come and has made me feel at ease with labour and what is about to come. Would highly recommend! Thanks
